Churches, students, and a school for Cambodia

Our missions focus is Cambodia. We are starting by listening and supporting what God is already doing there. In time, together with Cambodian partners, we hope to help provide safe, Christ-centered housing for students, and one day a Christian school. Those are hopes, not commitments. Both would be offered freely to all students, regardless of belief.

Why Cambodia

[TODO: In a few sentences, share why Cambodia is on your heart and how the connection began.]

We have recently made contact with existing Cambodian churches and student dorm projects. These are independent ministries that we are getting to know; we are not formally affiliated with them.

The vision

Three steps, one at a time

Each step builds on the one before it. We intend to move forward carefully, as relationships, resources, and wisdom allow. Steps 2 and 3 are hopes, not commitments.

  1. PLANNED

Support existing churches and dorm projects

Our first step is to come alongside Cambodian churches and student dorm projects that are already serving their communities: building relationships, praying for them, and supporting their work.

  2. A hope

Help provide student housing with local partners

In time, together with Cambodian partners, we hope to help provide safe, Christ-centered housing for students.

  3. A hope

    Found a Christian school

Our long-term hope is to establish a Christian school in Cambodia, together with local partners, offering quality education rooted in the gospel.

How we hope to work

We are just beginning to get to know churches and student ministries in Cambodia. We're committed for the long haul, one faithful step at a time. These are the principles we intend to follow as those relationships grow.

1. Local leaders first

Cambodian believers know their communities best. We intend to listen first and to let Cambodian leaders set the priorities. Our role is to support their work, not to direct it.

2. Honest and accountable

We will be honest about where we are, including what we have not done yet. We intend to handle every gift with care and to report openly to donors and to the ministries we serve with.

3. Dignity, consent, and safe children

Every person bears God's image, [PENDING: Rev. Paul Anderson's review of this phrase, Oct 12 package] so we will share stories only with informed consent and never as objects of pity. To protect children, we do not show identifiable minors in our public content. Before any direct work with children, we intend to adopt a written child safeguarding policy.
